As a lover of Romance Novels, I was very pessimistic when I recieved this book and didn't know what to expect. But from the moment I began to read I could not put it down.
This murder mystery set in the Scottish Highlands has a varied mix of characters who you can not only imagine, but also who leap of the page and keep you wondering. DI Kennedy and Michael Bach are the main characters who chase the idea of catching the killer and keep you waiting to know what they will do next.
I thought the book was well written and I liked the way in which it was written with short paragraphs, each time changing to a different character. The detail of the murders not only lets you picture what has happened but gave me goosebumps when reading it. However, I was a little disappointed with the ending. I thought throughout the book there was a good build up and momentum with plenty of twists which were unexpected, but then the ending felt rushed and a little bit of a let down aswell as a little bit of a cliffhanger as we are still unsure of the whereabouts of Nichol Morgan.
The cover of this book compelled me to read it and wonder just what happens beneath the pages.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in the series.
