Well paced book!
Very well paced book from the offset! Kept me gripped throughout and I didn’t guess the ending at all until it was happening!
The opening chapters were really enticing and I felt that this was maintained throughout the rest of the book.
Really liked the interweaving storylines from Monica and Michael.
However, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the whole “detective who neglects her child” storyline. It feels like something that’s overused and I appreciate that family/work balance is hard but this seems to only ever be a storyline with female detectives? Or this could just be a coincidence that this is a common occurrence in the detective books I am reading.
Likewise, you always have high profile individuals with jobs where confidentiality is important, dishing out information to people that they shouldn’t be and I’ve never understood it.
