The book cover is quite muted but it makes the genre easily identifiable - from a distance I would know this was a crime novel.
I like an opening that starts after the events of the novel itself - throws up an immediate question. The subject matter is timely and I like that the author has used POC characters that already don't fit a lazy stereotype. I'd very much like to read on.
