Feels forced

Looking at the cover this isn’t the sort of book that I would normally choose. The subject matter is very current and I think especially young adults would be interested. Some of the dialogue felt very forced, it feels as if the author has never been in this situation and has written from imagination instead of experience. I particularly found the reference to the police as ‘feds’ quite odd because that isn’t a word regularly used in British English and considering the book is set in London it didn’t quite sit right with me. I’d need to read about another 50 pages to decide whether I wanted to continue.
