You know what sort of book you are going to be in for when the word 'gallows' appears in the title. This is not going to be a fluffy chick lit novel. As if that's not enough of a clue, the cover evokes a foggy scene, just enough to ramp up the atmosphere before you even pick the book off the shelf.
