Slow-paced crime fiction
This book was my first foray into Kate London's The Metropolitan Series and unfortunately, it was nowhere near as thrilling as I thought it would be. I am a massive fan of crime fiction but I found this book to be slow paced, bordering on boring at times, and I struggled to motivate myself to finish it.
I did not connect with any of the characters, apart from Lizzie, and I found it difficult to keep up with the different teams of detectives and the crimes they were investigating. I also disliked the frequent use of the term "the feds", which felt too American for my liking.
I have not read any of the other books in The Metropolitan Series and this book did not make me want to rush out and buy them. I am sorry to give this book such a low rating but it really did not live up to my expectations.
