I've just finished reading the first four chapters of this story and can hardly believe how skillfully the author shifted the mood from a feel-good family occasion to such an 'out-of the blue' act of violence - what an amazing start to a book! A Swedish friend of mine read this book when it was first published and told me I just HAD to get hold of a copy when it was published in translation ... I now know why! I'm sure it will be one of those page-turning stories which will be full of interesting characters and unexpected twists ... and will keep me up far beyond my usual bedtime. I must now spend a week waiting to find out whether I'll be lucky enough to win a copy:-)
