Initially I was intrigued by the blurb.
A woman waving her daughters and grandchildren off after looking after the children for a week whilst their parents enjoy a weeks break, answers the phone to hear to word ‘enigma’. Instantly she fetches a gun and shoots her husband in the head. Talk about dramatic!
The telephone number is flagged up as now live, so the people responsible for locating the woman must act quickly. However, the woman (Agneta) is already gone.
A couple of Swedish police officers; Sara and David are staking out a known prostitutes house when Sara sees a man leave the property. Instantly she is chasing after him whilst her colleague goes to he aid of the prostitute. After a dramatic chase she catches the man, he stabs her in the leg but she manages to keep a hold of him and gets the cuffs on him. As the man is being taken to their police car she receives a call off an old friend telling her that an old childhood friends father has been shot in the head. “I’m on my way” she says.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this book, it really had me hooked from the word go.
