At first, I was fairly apprehensive of the large amount of exposition that was detailed in the first chapter. However, I found this definitely supported the plot twist that occurred later in this chapter - making it more impactful despite only being introduced to these characters a few pages ago.
The use of multiple perspectives is engaging and the third-person allows these to be cohesive. Even from this short excerpt, you can see how these perspectives are intertwined and are excited to see how they will intermingle.
The mystery and action right from the get-go builds anticipation - it stopped me from putting the excerpt down!
In terms of the cover, I think the overlay of the phone and fingerprint makes it a bit muddy but the general concept would be appealing to people interested in the genre.
