An opening with a bang (literally)! This book sounds amazing! I loved the happy family backdrop juxtaposed with the what appears to be a shocking brutality of a wife killing her husband in cold blood, just as her children and grandchildren had left the house. The sinister waving them off, with a gun sneakily hidden will stay with me and is definitely making me want to read on. I’m excited to see where the author takes this.
