I was so excited to read this from the minute I knew it was on its way. The blurb gripped me immediately. But then I was nervous that I set my expectations too high.. However, I was not disappointed.

Immediately after her grandkids are collected from a week in her care, Agneta receives a phonecall. The caller says one word.. 'Geiger' and she knows what she has to do. She goes to he drawer, takes out her gun and puts one bullet in her husbands head. Then she's on the run

The storyline is brilliant and unique, and the writing style is great.
The book can be overly discriptive but I believe it's translated from Swedish and I had no issues with that, I think the translation was great.

I love that there are strong female characters in this book. Sara is a resilient female police officer who is determined to find answers and at times risks everything for justice for the victims in her cases.
Agneta is a spy, but even as an elderley lady she is fully committed to her mission.

There is a lot of Swedish name dropping and it is all based around the cold War. Sometimes I struggled with the Soviet Union/ East and West Germany politics, but the author describes all of this within the story so I had enough information to keep up with the story. I admit that sometimes I skipped over the names of places in Sweden because the sentence could give directions (A to B, through C until you reach D) which were all places with 10+ characters in them which I found hard to read and would interrupt my flow.

Overall I thought the book was amazing, and there were some twists towards the end that kept me on edge.

I'd recommend this book to thriller readers!
