This book begins with a lot of suspense and drama, with Agneta Broman answering the phone after saying goodbye to her grandchildren (who have been staying with her). What follows from this moment on is a murder story that moves with pace and mystery.

There are many complex parts to this novel including the characters themselves. The story follows Sara Nowak and we see her struggling both professionally and personally. However despite this, I didn’t really feel like I got to know her character that well. The novel also has many references to history and politics; this was quite detailed and so I found it difficult to digest at times.

There were twists and turns and I liked the spy theme of the book; I wanted to know what happened next and how it would end. Overall though I just don’t think it was for me given the nature of some of the topics covered in it.
