An enjoyable crime and spy thriller with action and shocks. The book is composed of various plots, the main one being following Grandma Agneta and her involvement with an undercover operation that starts with the shooting of her husband, Stellan Broman. The main protagonist of the novel is detective Sara, an old childhood friend of the Broman's two daughters who lived with the family as her mother was their housekeeper. Sara is not officially involved but investigates anyway whilst continuing her work pursuing sex offenders and attempting to help vulnerable women.

As the novel progresses we discover secrets of the past and the present strains and expectations that affect the characters and their families as they carry out their duties. I liked the character of Agneta even though she was carrying out illegal criminal activities and felt myself championing her on occasions which shows how well written she was. Sara was an interesting character, although she was aggressive to men who were exploiting women as more of her past came to light I understood her frustrations more.

The novel is a great read for avid thriller/spy/crime readers although it is quite graphic in parts. The ending was quite rushed and left a few questions and room to explore one of the lesser characters of the novel who was an important component to the spy plot.
