The police presence is involved throughout as one of the key characters is Sara Novak, who is a life-long friend of the family and police women. Alongside the historical espionage we are aware of modern life cruelty and the exploitation of women.
If you love a Cold War spy storyline this is a great read but if like me this wasn’t always keeping your attention the temptation was to skim some of this to keep up with the enthralling actions of Agneta, the aged assassin.
