it was very detailed at first then as the storyline progressed the change of setting intrigued me to want to read more. I thought the use of alternating timelines of now and then would become a problem in relaying the true intentions of the author but it did not hinder the showing of the two sides of the story. the powerful main character, I really love how his character has developed and we can evidently see his progress along the way which is exceptional. I will certainly re-read this masterpiece, and this book had such an influence on me, I am looking forward to reading books from the same author. I am still a fan and look for fascinating characters and character development when assessing whether the book was good. this was great!The writing style is quite wordy and was hard to follow for a few pages but you soon get in the swing of it and realise how funny it is.
