I received a copy of this arc thanks to Readers First and Zaffre Books.

Before receiving this book, I had read the preview which included the first 4 chapters and this was my first impression of the book:

It was initially the blurb that drew me in. It seems to follow 3 different perspectives which I imagine will all be entwined in some way later in the book. The part of the story I want to know more about is why Agneta shot her husband. What has he done for this to happen? I think this is all part of some sort of underground intelligence/spy agency where something has gone wrong. Very intrigued.

Having now read the full book, this is my full review:

I honestly didn’t find myself enjoying this, it took me 4 days to read it because I kept putting it off.

I found it confusing to follow which characters perspective it was in as it would change without notice - it would’ve been helpful to have the characters name under the chapter number.

However over half way through the book, it started getting a bit more interesting - though it was the last 5-ish chapters that really sold it for me! I was partly right in guessing what had happened but honestly I didn’t expect the plot twist at the end!

I think people who enjoy spy books with a historical element will enjoy this!
