Geiger by Gustaf Skordeman is not a genre that I normally read. I find spy thrillers can drag on a bit and sometimes the plot does not hold my interest. Also I am not a fan of books about the Cold War. However, I was intrigued by the blurb. A woman who receives a phone call and then kills her husband. Straight away you are drawn into the story. Why did she kill him? Who phoned her? And why after all these years? And what does the word Geiger mean? These were questions that I wanted answered and why I wanted to read the book. However, I struggled to finish reading this book. There was not enough suspense to hold my interest and this book was definitely not for me. However, I liked the book cover and obviously the blurb was a winner. I also enjoyed the character Sara Nowak and that the story had strong, female protagonists. Geiger is Gustaf Skordeman's thriller debut and deserves to do well, regardless of my views.
