This was Scandi noir at its finest, from the first tense page it gripped you.
A family gathering and then a mysterious call that causes a housewife to randomly put a bullet in her husband's brain then flee the scene, what more could you ask for with an opener?
Sara Nowak works in the prostitution division and is not assigned the case of the murder of Stellan Broman but having know the family closely since a young child she dabbles and meddled until she found out things about the Broman family, spies and even horrendous hidden secrets deep within her own and her mother's past that connects them with the Bromans' more than she could ever have known.
That call has more rippling effects than just a domestic murder scene, it could bring about world destruction.
This case turns into a race against time for Sara to save countless lives while she grapples with making sense of her own.
This was wonderful the only thing I can say against it and will for me downgrade it a point is the senseless and graphic animal cruelty towards a mouse that added absolutely NOTHING to the story.
Mentioning as for me animal cruelty is a personal trigger and maybe for others so this marred my enjoyment a little but I'm giving an honest appraisal of the plot which was fantastic.
