Cleverly Written
This book was cleverly written telling the story backwards from the present day back to how the characters developed motivation. I have never read a book that specifically moved backwards in time with chapters starting at 18 through to 1 with chapter 19 at the end. Most books I have read go backwards and forwards between different timelines. I really enjoyed this way of writing as it was different, although it did take me a little while to understand what was going on.
The reason I gave this book 3.5 stars was that I felt like the motivations were a bit unbelievable - however, it is fiction so I wouldn't expect everything to be realistic. I did enjoy the characters though.
It was the first book I have read by e.lockhart and this book wouldn't make me rush to pick up another book by this author. I had high hopes for this book but for me it didn't meet expectations.
