Overall just a bit monotonous all the way through - it definitely reminded me of We Were Liars (especially in how confusing the narrative was and how predictable the ending turned out to be). But I really love E. Lockhart's writing style, and the front cover is suitably mysterious. Who has cut their hair? Well, Imogen, but her constant (and later justified) comparison to Jule also adds to the mystery layers surrounding this book. I don't know what it is about YA mystery but it never really seems to measure up to the hype, at least in my opinion. This book is no exception to that. Hype can help books, but it can also mean that the product is diminished by the momentous expectation upon it. So, it's three stars from me.
