This was a genuinely intriguing read! Present day events slowly built up through the clever narrative; working backwards through time to complete an aptly woven story of secrets, deceit and murder.

Although initially confusing (never did quite get my head around remembering the various dates at the start of the chapters!) it was an interesting way of filling in the gaps and seeing how everything fell in to place and how the current story got to where it was.

The main issue was the 'current' story; there was so little detail or time spent on it that there seemed almost no reason to know what had led up to that point. The protagonist was anything but sympathetic or relatable, distracting from the somewhat realistic setting and time, and was overall distracting.

An OK read, but not really one I'd kill to read again.
