Lockhart is quite easily one of my favourite authors, and whilst this isn’t one of my favourite of hers, it was still brilliant.

Told in reverse, we first find Jules somewhat on the run under a false name. As we backtrack over the past year, we find all the events that led her there. All seeming to revolve around her not-present best friend and namesake, Imogen who every time I thought had figured out left me lost yet again.

Sometimes I found the story a bit hard to get into, but partially because there was a lot coming to the surface with every chapter. There was an uneasy sense of worry through every page, making the reader not sure who or what to trust.

While this has more a thriller/mystery vibe, it's still got that trademark E Lockhart style, of making everyday things just feel slightly otherworldly and fantastic.

If you like a good crime/mystery, this is worth the read.
