The opening chapter was so enticing and raised so many questions that I was instantly hooked and needed to know more. And then as the story 'rewound' as it were, the plot got less appealing and more boring.

It was confusing to read at times because of the constant jumps from past to present, none of the characters were likeable (I couldn't even hate to love anyone) and the conclusion left me feeling cheated and baffled. After finishing the book I sat and looked at it for a while in disbelief and confusion.

I honestly think this book would have had more of an impact if it was written in chronological order. We could have had more character development and the suspense and thrill we were all craving from the first chapter.

Good idea. Poorly executed. I'm not sure what I was expecting since I really disliked We Were Liars. Now I can finally accept that E. Lockhart just isn't for me, unfortunately.
