To be more precise, I actually rated this book 2.5 stars. It was not my first e lockhart, so I was aware of the somewhat unique style of this author.
Although the premise of this book was interesting, I found it very confusing to read at times. I think the idea of telling this story backwards was really interesting, but it also made me a bit lost at some points and I had to flick back to earlier (well, later) chapters to understand what was going on.
I think the story was interesting; it definitely wasn't what I expected, but it also wasn't amazing. I did really enjoy the 'middle to end' chapters, but I feel like some questions never got answered for me in the final chapter, and I'm left wanting a bit more of a resolution. I think it probably could have been told the right way round, from start to finish, and it would have been a bit of a better story. But, saying that, the reverse story-telling was an interesting plot device, and it was potentially the first book I read that did this!
