It was OK.
Ok, I’d heard very good things about E.Lockheart’s, We Were Liars, so when this came up and got sent the book I was very excited to read it.
It took me a while to realise that it was written in a backwards sequence. So you start at the present day and move back through Jules past. The last chapter you end up back in the present day. Naturally I was very confused by this at first till I worked out what was going and I think that took some of the enjoyment out of it for me.
It’s basically a young adult crime book, a young girl spinning a web of lies to everyone she meets, secret identities and murder. It wasn’t brilliant but it was OK. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I know personally just because it’s not there thing, but I will be passing this book on to a local college where I’m sure kids there will love it.
