I received a beautiful, hardback ARC copy of Genuine Fraud from ReadersFirst.

I really, really liked this book.

I loved Lockhart's We Were Liars and I was so excited to read her second thriller. It took me a little while to get into, but then the twists and turns of the book come into play and everything gets juicy and complicated.

This is part thriller, part character study - and Jule is so multi-dimensional that it was a joy to read about her. She's been described as 'morally black' but she's so much more than that - she's desperate for someone to love her underneath everything, and able to see through the veneer that other people put on. Imogen, the girl she befriends/steals the identity of, is so realistic a person - I know so many people like her. Everyone seemed so authentic.

4.5 stars for this one. The sentences were sometimes very short, where things could have been described in a bit more detail, but that made for a quick read. Loved it.
