I saw this book and the price was a bargain so decided to buy it, especially since the author's previous work ( WE WERE LIARS) was very hyped up.

One thing I did enjoy about the book was the twisted main character, her obsession with her friend, her mannerisms, and all the red flags you pick up straight away. The plot is great, the characters are likable, however, the decision to tell the story backward, well it really hurts your head.
It is an interesting choice to do this, however, you are already trying to find out the motives of each character, and paired with a non-chronological order scenario, it gets REALLY confusing. I had to re-read the book to truly understand what happens.

The writing itself is palatable, no over-the-top fancy words, and witty dialogue to boot, however, its faults match up to it, and it's nothing out of the extraordinary so a good book all in all.
