I was really looking forward to this book but unfortunately I was a little bit disappointed. The concept of a mystery, suspense drama told backwards was quite intriguing but I found that it actually took away the suspense rather than heightening it. I was expecting there to be more of a twist but it never came.
I did enjoy E Lockhart's writing style though. It was less lyrical than in her previous novel We Were Liars, which I loved, and I feel like this will appeal to more people. The characters could have been developed a little bit more as I found myself questioning what I actually knew about them or what was supposed to draw me in about them. It was a solid 3 stars from me. Ok but I did expect more.
