This book is such a relatable story for many young people, I like the way it is set out with diary entries, time periods and the script like feel to it when people are talking and the underlining titles. I really like that it’s set as a diary, my son has just started keeping a diary because he’s quite a shy child and I thought it would be good for him to write down how he is feeling each day so he’s not bottling it up as he’s being bullied and doesn’t really like to talk about it. It’s a fun story which has elements of humour in. I think a lot of children will like to read this book. I am not in the age range for this story but I have children and nieces who would absolutely love to read this story. I love how modern this story is and relatable for children with apps, YouTube dance tutorials. Home learning during the covid period meant a lot of dance tutorials in my house which were so fun. I like the different font styles and the way the story is broken down, it makes it easy to read and easy to stay focused for those who don’t like reading pages and pages of one font type. I love the night colours of the cover as well it’s eye catching and one that will appeal to many people. I would buy this book to gift to both my nieces and my daughter when she gets older. The character is very likeable and a lot of girls will see elements of themselves within the character.
