I absolutely loved this. I'm not really the target audience but I devoured this. I wish it had been out when I was a teenager! I absolutely love Lara, what a great character and enjoyed her 'glow up' journey. I was devastated when she decided she was going to give up football. I love that in the end she realised what was important to her and went for that instead of worrying what other people thought. I love the strong friendships Lara has and reading about the stuff she gets up to with her friends! Some really funny bits. I also like the aspect of the relationship between Lara and her Mum and Lara getting to love her Afro hair. Somehow the story is the perfect balance of dealing with some really difficult themes while still being quite a light read and really heartwarming. I hope this gets turned into a movie or a TV show, I would definitely watch!
