Glow up Lara Bloom is probably best suited to girls around 11-14 years old I'd have thought, though even as an adult I rather enjoyed it! Lara is a teenager who keeps a journal of everything that happens to her and the book is that journal. I found it easy to ready and as it is a journal it is broken up nicely so that you can easily just read a bit at a time. The main storylines are a "glow up" of self improvement that Lara is doing with her friends, a potential love interest with the new boy at school and her efforts to lead her football team to glory by going unbeaten in 100 matches! Lara's efforts often get thwarted in a comedic fashion by her own clumsiness and bad luck but also by some bullies at school. While lots of the story is quite funny, as a parent it did highlight to me the struggles young people can face and the worrying ways social media etc can be used for unkindness and bullying. The story has a good message about accepting yourself.
