I really enjoyed reading this book. I wasn't sure what the main focus would be when reading as it seemed to be typical teenage growing up. I thought the main character changing so much for a boy she liked was typical but then her friends backed her up and empowered her to glow up not for anyone else but for herself. The thought behind this book is brilliant. It goes through so much of the difficulties teenagers face in school lives but also a lot of the good thing, the joys and firsts and it really took me back to my secondary school years and helped me remember some of the good and not just the bullying that happened.
I love the moral of the story, remembering to love yourself before anything else. I loved reading about her friends and family backing her up when it was needed and I would without a doubt say it is a book not just for teenagers but for adults also. I truly enjoyed this read and it made me think a lot about loving myself first.
