From the first impression I already love how the characters have different voices and tones in their chapters - even though it is being told in the third person perspective. It separates the characters from each other and starts the reading rooting for them.
The cover is the first suggestion at the light-hearted theme of the novel, and the first impression does not let it down. Even though their problems seem rather mundane - Aideen being overshadowed by her sister, Kevin struggling with unemployment - there are a few things out of the ordinary. Millie's excessive shoplifting is finally catching up to her and the consequences that are sure to follow will be interesting.
I can't wait to read more of the book. I'm looking forward to whether Aideen ends up at he boarding school and the trouble she will inevitably cause if she's sent there. I want to read more so I can develop more of a connection to the characters too, as I haven't been able to pick a favourite yet.
