I wasn't sure that I'd enjoy this book initially, but a few chapters with the Gogarty's and I was hooked. The story wasn't what I'd expected, and initially I thought not much was going to happen and it was going to be a story purely about the tensions and trials of a multi-generational family. There are three main characters - Grandmother Millie, her son Kevin and his teenage daughter, Aideen. Happy to say I was proved wrong about the story, it is about those tensions, but there's more at play and I really enjoyed how the plot takes a turn when Millie is placed in a nursing home to recuperate against her will.

By the end of the book I was totally invested in the characters and could have easily read a second book if there was one! The story flips between points of view between the three main characters, which is enough to keep it interesting but not so many that you aren't sure what's going on.

Thoroughly recommend if you're after a light-hearted novel to make you smile!
