Kevin Gogarty has no choice but to appoint a caretaker to keep an eye on his irrepressible eighty-three-year-old grandma, Millie. Kevin, who was recently laid off, is now at his wits' end trying to keep up with a packed house as his wife goes to exotic locations for work, leaving him alone with his sulky, misbehaving teenaged daughter, Aideen.

“At sixteen or seventeen, a year from now is unfathomable.”

A light easy read with hilarious moments on family, friendship, trials, and above all, love. Books like this really give a reader a sense of home and you can take comfort in the main characters' relatable personality. Everyone loves a bit of family drama and an older narrator to provide all the laughs and giggles one needs on a summer's evening. Something about Irish crack has me on the edge of my seat. You never know what's coming around the corner!
