This is a fun and enjoyable family drama story following the Gogarty family from Ireland. The story is told from the alternating perspectives of Millie, the grandmother of the family with a penchant for stealing, her step-son Kevin who is a stay-at-home father looking for work, and his teenage daughter Aideen who can't help finding herself in trouble.

I really liked the multi-generational aspect of storytelling and felt that the book did a great job of showing how each generation faces their own problems and struggles but are often in conflict with each other. Each of the three main characters were well developed and had believable storylines so the family felt authentic and their bond felt relatable.

The pacing was really good and, despite being a relatively long book, I never felt bored as there was always plenty going on in the plot to keep me engaged. The final section of the book bordered on melodrama for me but I was able to suspend my disbelief enough to not let it hamper my enjoyment of the book.

Overall this was a really fun family drama story with plenty to think about and unpick after. I look forward to seeing more from this author in the future.
