I really enjoyed this light-hearted story about a family full of great characters and the scrapes they get themselves into. Although there were some pretty serious topics covered, they were handled with the right mix of reality and humour to keep the book an easy read. There were also some really uplifting parts that made my heart happy.
The chapters are written from different characters perspectives - there is Millie (the matriarch of the Gogarty family), Aideen (Millie’s granddaughter, a teenager who refers to her twin as ‘Nemesis’) and Kevin (Millie’s son and Aideen’s dad) - this is a style I enjoy reading as I feel you get a better understanding of the way things impact all affected parties, which makes the story richer.
The scrapes and situations they get themselves into offer lots of entertainment and made for a lovely escape.
