I struggled to keep my interest in this book to the end, but I did get to the end!
I didn’t immediately warm to the characters at all, and I even found myself wanting to skip certain chapters for certain characters. When I did start to get a better feel for the characters, the book was finished.
Whilst I generally read a different genre, I do usually enjoy these types of books as a way to break up my usual choice.
Some of the characters were flat and I didn’t always feel like the conversations or situations were believable, and I think this contributed to my dislike and disinterest towards them.
There were some funny parts, and some nice parts but overall, it wasn’t a good fit for me.
I think expected it to be a lot funnier, the inside jacket states that this book has “warmth and wit” and this I believe was a bold and unfortunate statement to make, it promised something that, for me, it didn’t deliver.
