This is a story of 3 generations living in Ireland - it is told from the point of view of Grandmother Millie ( who is starting to forget things and is a slightly eccentric character), Her son Aiden ( Father to 4 children - was made redundant 2 years ago and is now a house husband trying to keep the family going) and the teenage daughter Aideen ( she is a twin and is about to be sent away to boarding school in the hope this will make her less wayward). Aiden is getting exasperated by his mother and after having to collect her from the Police station again he decides to employ Sylvia as a sort of home help - From here onwards she is a main part of Millies life - her nephew becomes friendly with Aideen.
Its an easy to read story although there are a lot of bits in it that are clearly unbelievable ! I enjoyed it but it wasn't as funny as it is made out to be ... an OK read.
