Really enjoyed reading this book, it was funny and heartwarming if a little far fetched in places.

The book follows the story of 3 generations of the Gogarty family. Starting with Millie, the cantankerous, chain smoking, shop lifting, slightly loopy grandma. Millie’s an absolute crackpot but her antics throughout the book make you laugh.

Kevin the son/father who is going through a serious mid life crisis, and also having to deal with losing his job, being a house husband and dealing with his truly batty mother!

Aideen, the daughter, who is a troubled teenager who has been banished to boarding school. Eventually finding love to find her boyfriend dessert her without saying goodbye.

I loved the relationship between Millie and Aideen, the way they both run away causing much hilarity but concern for the family they have left behind!
