I really enjoyed this book and thought it was super realistic. Too often, fiction books can feature characters that I really can't relate to but there's always been something about Irish characters that is so loveable and real. Millie is such a happy character and her relationship with other characters is so adorable. I think the only problem with this story is that it is a bit cliche. Otherwise, it's a nice light read.
I also love books with stay-at-home fathers and always think it provides a nice dynamic to a story. Kevin's relationship with his wife seems to be a rollercoaster throughout the story which I personally wasn't a fan of. There's not really any chemistry between them and he doesn't care much for his family. Maybe that's the recent unemployment talking but it's unbearable. Sometimes I also think there is a lot of filler in the story which wasn't at all necessary to the plot.
