This was a lovely book to read. It’s an insightful look into family life, it’s struggles and ups and downs.
We meet Millie, the grandmother, Kevin her son, and Aideen, Kevin’s daughter.
I adored Millie’s character, she’s eccentric, complex and fascinating. Aideen is a struggling teenager and so relatable for many. I had issues with Kevin as a character, I enjoyed reading his story and how he fitted in but as a person I found him massively flawed and actually quite unlikable. The book follows a portion of their life, their interactions and how they deal with issues that arise.
This book is so easy to read, you find yourself flying through it just to get to the next instalment. It’s told in short chapters from the perspective of either Millie, Kevin or Aideen which adds to the pacy feeling. The cover is beautiful and such a lovely eye catching yellow colour perfect for spring.
