The book seemed like a light, feel good, curl up by the fire book. However straight away we are draw into a silly plot that you feel lost in. I find there is too much description of the characters and scenes to really get interested in the plot (is there even a plot?).

Set in Ireland the story focuses on a family of good eggs going through a rough patch in life. Grandma Millie is finding her old years difficult with out her husband, she's lonely and her friends are dropping like flies. To spice up her dull old life Millie decides to pick up an old habit, shop lifting. Having enough of his chaotic home life , son Kevin hires his elderly mum a carer and sends his disobedient daughter to boarding school in hops it straitens her out, it doesn't.

Overall I'm sure this book is an enjoyable read for young readers but for one more mature it just doesn't seem to spark my interest.
