First I just want to say I love the presentation of this book, the yellow sunny cover in contrast to the man with his head in his hands, sulking teenager and granny on her bike is brilliant and truly sets the scene for the story.
If you get this book because you are looking for a funny, brilliant, realistic(ish) storyline with characters you can connect with then you won't be disappointed!
Far fetched but relateable plot twists and turns had me seeing the world through the eyes of the characters. All their problems became mine, their triumphs and moments of brilliance too. At one point I actually found myself as a young woman truly feeling the struggles of being the exasperated father of a troubled teenager with her first boyfriend! Isn't that why we read? For a change of perspective? What more can you want from a book?
Hard to believe this is the authors first novel. I hope she writes more!
