Jane Tennison is back, having started her climb up the police force as a detective. From the start, we see her classit traits, showing her colleagues that, although she may be the only woman in a man's world, she should never be underestimated, giving them a promising link that they have all missed.

In 'Good Friday', Lynda La Plante has written a book set in 1976 but, eerily, echoes recent tragic events in the U.K. The London bombings will definitely take Jane out of her comfort zone and will give her the chance to show the rest of the force that she has what it takes to be a successful detective.

I like the fact that the cover is vague, not giving away anything as to the plot. This adds to the intrigue into the shadowy world of the IRA and makes this book highly anticipated.
