I am new to Jane Tennison and to Lynda La Plante though of course have heard of the Prime Suspect TV series, and this back story looks like a good place to start. I thought the scene was set very well and really brought that sinking feeling of the first day in a new job to life, so am keen to see how things work out for Jane.
