As a fan of crime books - focusing on police force ones - I can't understand why I have never read Lynda La Plante before.
The opening chapters set the scene with Jane joining an all male detective team. She is the object of their typical laddish banter and pranks - a dynamic always enjoyable to read about as it is so often prevalent in the work place even these days.
I would enjoy reading the whole book and will be looking to read her others too.
