An absolutely cracking good read!
Set in the 70s, it's nice to read a thriller without the conveniences of the internet and mobile phones!

Every character was engaging and well padded, with realistic motivations and outcomes. Twists at every point and an exceptionally rewarding conclusion, with every plot thread weaving together nicely.

Set in realism with the IRA breathing down the neck of the likeable protagonist, Jane, this thriller really hits close to home; you feel for the characters and you feel the aftermath of the explosion that the action centres around.

Terrorism is always a sensitive subject to cover, but La Plante does it well, even managing to invoke sympathy for the antagonists too!

Would thoroughly recommend this, even if you're not a fan of Linda La Plante.
