Good Friday by Lynda La Plante is the third book in the Jane Tennison series which are prequels to the popular television series Prime Suspect.
The book is set in London in the 1970s so there is no internet or mobile phones but it does seem to accurately reflect the time and place.
The story is based around an IRA bombing campaign and moves along quite quickly and is an easy read.
Tennison is the main character and whilst some of the decisions or choices she made seem to be fairly naive you have to remember that she us only in her early twenties.
I gave not read any of the other two prequels but this book was find on a standalone basis and there wasn't too much backstory repetition.
Overall it was good read and I would read the others in the series
