This is the first book by Lynda La Plante that I have read, but it won't be the last. The story is well executed with a great plot. I thoroughly enjoyed it,and I was hooked from page one. What I like about this book is that Tennyson comes across as a strong and able female character who enjoys and is good at what she does. This is a gutsy novel which is well written and and the writer is not afraid to deal with the painful issues that arise from terrorism. The story takes place in the 1970's and Tennyson is working in a male dominated job and is up against it. It is refreshing to read about Tennyson's earlier career and to see her character evolving as she progresses from a young woman to the mature female character she becomes in prime suspect.
